What is the Leisure Isle Festival?
The Leisure Isle Festival in Knysna is a community event organized by a group of friends to provide local crafters and businesses a unique opportunity to showcase and sell their products, promote community spirit, and provide a venue for approved charities to raise funds.

What’s the aim of the Festival?
The aims are to:

What happens if it rains?
The Festival continues whatever the weather. In 12 years, 2012 was the first year of continuous rain, but many of our persistent exhibitors still pitched. It is not considered practical to have a postponement plan.

Leisure Isle Festival

Can stall holders leave “structures” (tents/gazebos, table etc) overnight?
Yes and this also applies to the Friday night. However they do so at their own risk.

How are stalls/stall holders selected?
See the section on “Application evaluation” in Conditions of Participation in this website.

Can other charities and NGO’s exhibit?
Yes provided they meet the criteria and agree to the standard conditions of participating & if there are sites available.

Is it only for Leisure Isle residents?
No – all are welcome. Many Leisure Isle residents and residents of Knysna, Sedgefield & Plettenburg Bay see it as an opportunity to serve the broader community and to develop community spirit.

Are there any events/stalls planned for children?
Yes there is lots of fun arranged for the kiddies, e.g. treasure hunts, a jumping castle, face painting, mosaic art etc.

What will be available for the customers?
Once exhibitors have been selected, a section will be added to this site providing details of what is on offer. This will include:

• A broad selection of local products
• Plant sales
• Large book stall
• Local art
• A large variety of food to eat at the festival or take home
• Beer, wine and soft drinks
• Lots of unique items suitable for Christmas gifts
• A delightful ambience in which to enjoy all of the above

Where do exhibitors off-load?
Vehicle access is allowed into the four roads surrounding the presentation area to off-load but must be moved with minimum delay to allow others to do the same.

What are the parking arrangements?
Two off-street parking areas are accessed from Links Drive and free street parking is available on the maze of little lanes branching off the main roads. If you do not immediately find parking drive another 100 to 200 metres and you will find street parking in one of these lanes and then enjoy the walk back to the Festival and soak in the ambience, there is also dedicated parking for persons with disability.

How many vendors are expected to take part?
The number of stalls is expected to be about 100.

Can we bring our dogs?
The Eden District Health Department has disalowed animals in food distribution areas of the Festival, please see the site map of 2018 for more detail.
